Le Chinois Contemporain 2 Book of Characters

Published by the University of Pekin, this progressive method introduces 700 characters and also access to a vocabulary of 1700 words and expressions as well as basic grammatical rules.

The textbooks are compiled for Chinese learners whose mother tongue is French to master basic knowledge of listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as to grasp communication skills in Chinese. The Volumes One and Two includes four books: Textbook, Exercise Book of Chinese Characters, Exercise Book and Teacher's Book.

The Textbook is the main part of the textbooks and focuses on functional usage and culture introduction. The texts are in simplified and traditional Chinese characters with phonetic symbols and French translation. Each lesson includes list of new words and phrases, text, notes, grammar rules and cultural notes. The texts are composed of two interrelated parts and the vocabulary is also divided into two parts. The main characters of the texts are relatively stable while there are also new elements in each text to attract the learners, making all the texts an integrated part to reflect the extensive range of real life. Teacher's Book explains in details the compilation intention of the author, the general structure of the textbook, reference materials, transcripts of listening materials, key to the exercises and examination papers.

An Exercise Book of Chinese Characters provides knowledge concerning Chinese characters and offers an interesting exercise experience by designing various types of writing exercises.

The Exercise Book is comprehensive, diverse and selective, covering various fields of listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing and translating. Some of these exercises are easy and some are difficult so as to accommodate to different needs the learners with different levels.
